About Kulsite & Its Creator

Kulsite was founded by Alexandru Negoita, a full-stack developer passionate about WordPress, performance, and clean code.

I’m Alexandru Negoita, a Full-Stack Web Developer and WordPress Engineer from Bucharest, Romania — with over a decade of experience building, scaling, and maintaining digital platforms for clients across Europe.

I started my professional journey in a completely different field — meteorology — before shifting paths to follow my lifelong passion for technology. Since then, I’ve worked with some of the most respected names in the WordPress ecosystem, including Codeable, Dekode, and now Angry Creative, where I continue to push the boundaries of what WordPress can achieve at enterprise scale.

Today, I focus on crafting high-performance, secure, and maintainable solutions — blending deep technical expertise in PHP, JavaScript, React, Python, and Laravel with a strong understanding of user experience and system architecture.

Kulsite is my way of giving back: a space to share knowledge, connect with clients, and support the WordPress community that has shaped my career.

The Vision Behind Kulsite

Kulsite was created as a bridge between clients, developers, and the WordPress community.
It serves as both a professional hub and a learning resource, where I share development insights, WordPress best practices, and hands-on tutorials.

My long-term vision for Kulsite is to evolve it into a knowledge platform — a reliable reference point for developers who want to build WordPress solutions the right way, and a place where clients can learn, connect, and collaborate.

🌦 From Meteorologist to Web Enthusiast

Before entering the tech industry, I spent five years as a meteorologist at the Campina Station.
Even then, computers were my true passion — I enjoyed building and upgrading PCs, creating Hackintosh systems, and setting up personal servers just to understand how things worked.

Although my formal studies were in a different field, my curiosity for technology grew stronger every year, eventually leading to a full career change.

The Turning Point

In 2012, I began my professional web development journey as a CSS Skinner, focusing primarily on HTML and CSS.
Within just six months, I managed to build my first custom WordPress theme from scratch — after countless hours of reading documentation and experimenting with the WordPress Codex.

That project marked the beginning of Kulsite, my personal platform and identity as a developer — a space to communicate with clients and share technical knowledge with the community.

After launching Kulsite, I began freelancing on small projects with international clients, primarily through the Elto platform.
During this period, I explored multiple CMS environments — including ModX, PrestaShop, Drupal, Joomla, and Shopify — but always returned to WordPress for its flexibility, ecosystem, and developer-first philosophy.

The Turning Point

In 2013, I joined Codeable, the first WordPress-exclusive freelancing platform dedicated to high-quality work.
As one of its early members, I completed hundreds of successful projects, earning a strong reputation for reliability, technical precision, and long-term client satisfaction.

At the same time, I continued to expand my expertise by working with both local and international clients, delivering tailored web solutions for a wide range of businesses.

One of the most significant milestones during this period was my contribution to CropMobster, California’s first online ad-hoc marketplace for farmers and local communities. The platform allowed users to buy products, share resources, and participate in local events — all within a multi-network WordPress environment.

This project marked my first large-scale multisite integration, where I developed several custom features, including a cross-county search system that allowed users from one region to view listings and opportunities from nearby counties — one of my earliest but most impactful technical achievements.

Around the same time, after attending my first WordCamp Europe in Sofia, I was inspired to help grow the local community. That experience led me to co-found and organize the WordPress Meetup Bucharest group, which continues to this day — connecting developers, designers, and enthusiasts around our shared passion for WordPress.

Codeable In-House Collaboration

After several years of consistent top-rated work, I was invited by Codeable to join their in-house development team under a two-year collaboration contract.
This period helped me deepen my understanding of enterprise-level WordPress development, improve my communication with large client teams, and master the quality standards expected at scale.

I continued developing the WordPress local community during this time and kept a close connection with my former clients, still maintaining some of their projects.

Head of WordPress Development at Berners

After the Codeable in-house contract concluded, I remained an active expert on the platform while taking on a new challenge — building the WordPress department at Berners Agency.
As Head of Department, I led a small but capable team focused on performance, maintainability, and security, creating stable long-term solutions for clients.

Full Stack Engineer at Dekode

In early 2020, I was recommended to Dekode, a WordPress VIP agency based in Norway — one of the oldest and most respected in Scandinavia.
Over the next 5.8 years, I collaborated with major companies across Northern Europe, contributing to high-profile digital projects and strengthening my full-stack expertise.

At Dekode, I evolved into a Full-Stack Engineer, expanding far beyond WordPress:

  • Built performant, secure, and scalable solutions aligned with enterprise-grade standards
  • Enhanced my object-oriented PHP skills to a master level
  • Worked extensively with React, Laravel, Python, and custom PHP frameworks

I was also invited to be one of the organizers of the most remarkable event of WordPress in Romania, in year 2024: the creation of the WordCamp Romania 2024, an iconic event, with lots of people from all over the world. I was in charge of the the volunteers team, ensuring everything is developing the right way and at the right time.

A New Chapter ahead

After nearly six successful years with Dekode, I began a new chapter in 2025 — joining another leading WordPress VIP agency.
Here, my goal is to continue building robust digital ecosystems, lead by example, and contribute to shaping best practices in modern WordPress and full-stack development.

I am continuing my contribution to the WordPress, by still being an active member for the community, while pursuing my passion for photography. At WordCamp Torino I combined photography with my eager to help the WordPress community and I became a member of the event’s photography team, a moment which I want to continue offering to the community in the next years.

Design & Collaboration

While development is my primary focus, I occasionally engage in design — especially logo creation or improving personal web projects.
For professional design needs, I collaborate with trusted designers and partner agencies, ensuring the perfect balance between visual identity and solid technical implementation.

Community & Personal Life

I remain deeply connected to the WordPress community, having attended multiple WordCamps across Europe — including Sofia (2014), Paris (2017), and Belgrade (2018).
I also co-founded the WordPress Bucharest Meetup, which continues to thrive, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and long-term connections among developers and enthusiasts.

Beyond development, I am equally passionate about photography — a creative outlet that complements my technical work. Over the years, I’ve covered numerous events and portraits, including participating as part of the official photography team at WordCamp Torino.
You can view a selection of my photographic work at negoita-alexandru.ro. Photography serves as my way to unwind and recharge after an intense week of engineering and development — a balance that keeps my creativity sharp on both sides.

Outside work, I dedicate my time to my family, enjoy traveling, table tennis, and swimming. Those who know me describe me as sociable, approachable, and open-minded — qualities I strive to bring into every project, meeting, and collaboration.
